During high school, Connie was involved in National Honor Society, Badger Boys State, and Student Council. Connie was a three sport letter winner in Football and Track. He lettered four years in Swimming. Connie graduated from UW-Madison in 1960 and UW Medical School in 1963. After his Pediatric training he served two years in the US Air Force. He then joined the Dean Clinic, in Madison, in 1968, where he has practiced Pediatrics for 44 years. Since 1968 he has been deeply involved in Youth, High School, and College Sports Medicine. Connie has served on the WIAA Sports Medical Advisory Committee for 40 years and as its Chair for over 30 years. He has been the physician for over 10 different High School Championship Tournaments yearly for the last 35 years. Dr. Andringa was the team physician for the U.S. Olympic Hockey team in the Innsbruck, Austria in 1976. He has been awarded many honors including Madison Sports Hall of Fame, Blue Line Club Service Award, Dave McLain Distinguished Service Award from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association and the Madison Service Club Olympian of the Year.
