Donald Goerke

During high school, Donaldwas involved inNational Honor Society, a member of the 1944 State High School Basketball Team, and he was 7th in the graduating class of 283 students. Donald earned a bachelors degree from Carroll College and a masters degree in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Donald served in the Army Air Force in Arizona during World War Two. Donald first job was in marketing research for the Blatz Brewery. In 1955, Donald joined the Campbell Soup Company. During his 35 years with the company he helped introduce more than 100 products. The most well known were SpaghettiOs and Chunky Soup. In the mid-1960s, Donald was dubbed the Daddy-O of SpaghettiOs. The annual sales of these two foods were $500,000 in the 1990s. Donald served on the Special Olympic Boards and he met with Former President Ronald Reagan in the White House in connection with Campbell Soup and Special Olympics. Mr. Goerkes was married for 58 years to his wife, June. He is survived by his sons, Brian and David; and his daughter, Ann.
