Perry Cook

During high school, Perry was involved in National Honor Society. Dr. Perry Cook earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1983. In 1992, Perry earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He led the doctoral, masters and undergraduate science education programs at the University of North Dakota before returning to teach at his alma mater, UW - Stevens Point, in 1994. Perry began his career in education as a science teacher and department chair at Arrowhead Christian Academy in Redlands, California. Since beginning his tenure as a Professor of Science and Adolescent Education at UW-SP, Dr. Cook has prepared well over 2,000 K-12 teachers in the methods of teaching science. He has published in numerous professional journals and presents at state, national and international levels. Perry has been recognized with the UWSP Excellence in Teaching, the Student Wisconsin Education Association Outstanding Teacher Educator of the Year and the Wisconsin Elementary and middle level Science Teachers Distinguished Service Awards. Perry served multiple terms as a UWSP faculty senator and faculty advisor for Student WEA. He continues to enjoy working with the Kappa Delta Pi and Campus Crusade for Christ student organizations. Dr. Perry Cook is living the dream in Stevens Point with his best friend and wife Jean, and their three incredible children … Danielle, Connor and Stephanie.
